A calm and relaxing hub
Despite this being a newly extended room, it somehow feels like it’s always been there. Maybe it’s the mix of contemporary style with a slightly quirky slant and its carefully curated, calming colour pallet. Personal style, taste and attention to detail are what make our homes unique. Even the family dogs have a prominent place in this room with their own little space, accessible from the side of the dresser, leading to a cosy hideaway under the stairs!
This is testament to why one size doesn’t fit all – our homes should reflect exactly who we are and what makes us happy. When there are rules and no rules at the same time we can create a unique space – a personal haven to relax and kick back. This space really does that.
Contemporary kitchen space
Working alongside Ultra Developments Ltd, we designed and installed this contemporary kitchen for Julie Anne and her family. Julie Anne had some firm ideas about what she wanted and after exploring some options she chose the Crathorne door in Regiment Green. This door is similar to Mornington Shaker, apart from it has a slightly narrower frame. A great choice, especially complimented with Gold Mist Quartz, nicely finished with a full height splashback on the hob wall and 100mm upstands. The Peninsular Unit serves to separate the kitchen area from living space, creating extra counter space, storage and a seating area.
Ceramic Etroduo sink & Camia taps
Similar to an island, except a peninsula is an extension of the existing cabinets and counters and is not freestanding. Julie chose to have the Ceramic Etroduo sink by 1810 positioned here, and the Camia taps in chrome were sourced by Blanco.
Julie Anne envisaged a dining area with a bespoke bar including a wine cooler and wine rack. We built this featuring a fitted bronze mirror, glass shelving and some internal lighting.
A beautiful sociable space
To balance the space we installed another dresser, providing more storage with a seating area in between, including low level drawers. For her appliances, Julie chose a Bosch Induction Hob, Smeg dishwasher, Hotpoint Oven and Canopy Extractor by Cata. To complete the look, Julie Anne chose Bell handles in matt black and some under cabinet lighting. This sociable room has been accessorized beautifully by Julie Anne with the eye-catching feature wall, subtle lighting and warm furnishings, while the bi-fold doors and skylights allow plenty of natural light to pour in with a lovely view of the garden. This is certainly a kitchen and living area to be proud of.
