Outlasting Every Trend
This open-plan kitchen/living space certainly delivers this look on so many levels. It exudes a sense of calm and cosiness, yet is bright and refreshing. In fact, it’s anything you want it to be !
We always say that customers, who commit to the boldness of black and white, know exactly what they want. There’s no arguing about hues and tones, just two neutral colours that create a sharp contrast and a high impact statement that should be admired for its versatility and ageless qualities.
Having worked with our valued customer Ian previously, he wanted HB Kitchens to design and install something different from before. He wanted the kitchen to be relevant, as well as a classic, in the long term.
Aesthetically pleasing finish
After exploring the options together, Ian chose Vivo Matt Anthracite doors throughout. Ian didn’t want wall cupboards but preferred the idea of one wall to have a run of tall larder units for a clutter-free zone. This option not only provided a dramatic and slick backdrop to the overall look, but importantly created ample storage as well as a design that incorporates his integrated appliances with ease. This was combined with deep drawers installed into the Waterfall Island and either side of the hob. For an aesthetically pleasing finish and effective use of available space, we installed two narrow pull-outs either side of the two single ovens.
Emphasising quality and precision
One thing we always emphasise about black and white is that it must be installed and finished perfectly to enhance the crispness, emphasising quality and precision all the way. Ian’s choice of Ice White Quartz for his worktop and Waterfall Island has proved to be the perfect contrast, complimented with chunky brushed chrome door handles. The choice to paint the kitchen walls black and to install a reflective glass splash back works beautifully and especially compliments the modern extractor with its hint of blue light.
A sociable & homely space
For his appliances, Ian chose a separate tall fridge and tall freezer by Hotpoint. The gas hob and two single separate ovens were supplied by Neff as well as the dishwasher that was installed within the island. His washing machine and dryer were housed in the utility room. To complete the look of this sociable and homely space, Ian chose Amtico flooring in grey and accessorised the whole space with subtlety and style.
