Bespoke Hand Built Kitchens

Review This is the second kitchen Julien has installed for me. The standard of workmanship is excellent, as is the quality of the materials. Julien planned it so as to maximise every bit of space in my modestly sized kitchen. Also, his idea of extending the quartz countertops to cover the windowsills has made the kitchen appear both bigger and brighter. I love my new kitchen!

Julien came highly recommended and we had viewed three kitchens he had installed for a builder in renovated properties. We had taken our kitchen back to bare plaster but he could visualise what we wanted and helped us from initial planning, to building it and installing it himself. The doors, drawers and units are of a very high standard and finished with Julien's keen eye for detail. We wanted a particular angle across one corner which was a challenge but he overcame it because of his experience and knowledge. He guided us in what would work and what might not. Highly recommended in all regards. Julien fitted a kitchen in our previous house, and we didn't hesitate to use him again in our new house. We have some awkward features in our space and he came up with some brilliantly creative ideas. The bespoke bits are our favourite parts of our kitchen. I have had several new kitchens fitted in different houses over the years by different companies. This was far and away the smoothest process I have experienced from start to finish with a total commitment to giving the customer what they want combined with an emphasis on quality. Julien and his team were all thoroughly professional and personable, the work ran to time and everything was completed to a high standard. Julien fitted our first kitchen in 2003, which functioned perfectly well until Julien replaced it with a new kitchen in November 2024. He has always been incredibly reliable, fairly priced, uses quality materials and adopts a perfectionist approach to delivery of a quality final product as though it's his own kitchen before he'll finally sign-off with the client. He is a very approachable, professional, honest professional who is accessible before, during and after the project if required. He provided us with very sensible advice around the design and did not try to hard sell us anything we didn't need. He has ready access to other quality tradespersons where required. Having had a recent, very difficult experience with a Building contractor, Julien has played a pivotal role in riding to the rescue and played a blinder in helping successfully deliver key components of the project. His empathetic, compassionate approach was brilliant and we can't thank him enough. Thanks Julien.

Excellent kitchen journey from start to finish! Julien gives expert advice and was honest about costs, what would and wouldn’t work and gave us advice on work surfaces, always leaving the decision with us. He also helped with purchases of white goods and we now have a beautiful kitchen, which we love. We were able to see one of his previous jobs first hand when we visited a house he had worked on. Julien went out of his way to accommodate our working hours, and always returned to fix any small issues. Julien also made us a matching desk for the adjoining office area, which ties together the kitchen & office beautifully. We would highly recommended HB kitchens.

Julien came to us highly recommended by friends who had their kitchen done by him. We had ideas of what we wanted storage-wise for 2 bedrooms, 2 living rooms, a kitchen and utility room. Julien really helped us with these designs to inform us what was possible and what he would recommend to make the designs work. Julien is very creative but also honest - if something won't work or will be expensive he will say so but he will discuss the alternatives to ensure that you are happy with the design and the outcome. He helped us make decisions about things, like the counter tops, by sharing his opinion when we asked for it, but he would always leave the decision up to us. He did make recommendations based on his personal experience and offered to show us other houses he'd worked on so that we could see the finished designs. He also showed us photos and samples so we could make more informed decisions. Julien really wants what is best for his customers and he takes great pride in his work, which shows in every detail of the finished rooms. Thank you Julien for the work you have done for us. We are really enjoying living with the finished results and we anticipate many happy years to come in our new home.

My sister recommended HB kitchens as she had her kitchen fitted by Julien a couple of years ago. As with previous reviews we found Julien to be very helpful on our first visit, he suggested things that we had not thought about, he is friendly, helpful, knowledgeable and very professional, nothing was too much trouble, he was always at the other end of the phone or he would call around at the drop of a hat. Julien was also very helpful in recommending contractors for appliance's, flooring and lighting, providing contact details. I cannot praise Julien and his team too highly. The quality of the work and finished product is second to none. Great care and attention during the build and fabulous aftercare (not that you will need it!). In our view the quality and vfm cannot be beaten.
